It has been a great season for 2009. Many new games were played, like Left4Dead and L4D2, and we had some really great LAN parties with great food and prizes. Our future looks bright and we intend on being busy making our club even better. Having free internet in place for next year is just one many things we will have. Hey Gamers! Just wanted to say that with the January 2009 LAN-A-GEDDON, the NGC is off to a great start. We had 7 new gamers attend our LAN party for the first time and everyone of them said it was terrific. Just so you 7 know that counts as your free visit. DJ did the right thing and signed up for a yearly membership on the spot! Well done. Gamerz, what a fantastic December LAN party. I was blown away by the amount of people that showed up. I didn't expect such a good turn out being so close to Christmas. Everything started to gel this month with all the servers and stuff so it's just going to get better from here. Next year is going to be even better! I just want to wish everyone a Merry Christmas and a happy new year and look forward to seeing everyone next year.

All gamers - This is the last LAN party of 2008. For all you members out there, this is the last LAN party you can attend with your current membership so lets make it count! The weather may be cold but its just beginning to heat up at the LAN-A-GEDDON LAN Party. Your gaming forecast: There will be a heavy dose of Call of Duty: World at War followed by some sporadic down pouring of Nazi Zombies. You will also find isolated pockets of Co-Op multi-player gaming. The highs will be played out with Unreal Tournament 2004 - 4 team multi-player style which will run through mid-day. By the evening, Call of Duty 4 custom maps will prevail for many at the game. Let's all finish this year with a burn - from the inside out - as the theme for food items will be Tex-Mex (HOT). Did you come to the ACM LAN II over at Texas A&M in Commerce that was held this past Saturday? If you didn't you missed out because it truly was a blast! Did you know about the NGC Haunted House going on this week-end over at the Rec Hall? If you were one of the many volunteers then the E-Club and the NGC would like to thank you for your time and effort in helping set-up as well as participate in the Haunted House. It was as much fun to do as it was to attend. And to all those who came in attendance we thank you for your generous donations. We were able to fill a tub full of canned food for FISH Ministries and we also raised close to $200 dollars for the Habitat for Humanity of Greenville. Jeff Tyler, the president of Habitat for Humanity: Greenville attended with his daughter but because of the - Horror of what lies within - he did not dare to enter! He did express his extreme gratitude for everyone’s time and service. It has been a very fulfilling month indeed, thank you all!

Gamers, This Saturday were cookin in more ways than one. There are 18 new COD 4 maps loaded on the server and they are just a Pen Drive away from being played on your machine. We are also planning to play some favorite maps as well. Can you see 20 to 30 people in the the Kill House map? Crazy! As for new games, we hoping to debute "Mercenaries 2: World in Flames". As Rabid_finch has said "It has cooperative Multiplayer! You can play the main Mercenaries 2 campaign with the help of your friends" Sound awesomely cool to me. I want to also encourage all you gamers to bring your Xbox and Playstations. We've got a big screen projector that will fit them perfectly. Another way its cookin at NGC's Game Day is food. If you're hungry we have the food theme for you. For this month, it's "Carnivore time!" You can bring any meat off the street! Just the right kind of food for a few rounds of Turok! This LAN Party is shaping up to be a great one. I'll see you there!

Gamers - No special events are planned for this month’s LAN-A-GEDDON. However, there will be a bunch of new folks coming for their first time. So, let’s "Roll-Out" the red carpet and make these new guys feel welcome. When that's all done, then you can be free to blow-up a rocket in their faces. This is all figuratively speaking of course. Seriously folks, I am expecting a good turn-out of people this month - so let's game on! Remember, it's free for first-timers and only $5 dollars after that. Also, don't forget to patch your COD4 up to v1.7 this way you will be ready for game time action. Now that the dust has settled, the NGC would like to acknowledge the winners and thank all those who participated in making this event one for the record books. Besides being one of the oldest monthly LAN parties in Texas, a record number of 42 people came in attendance. In the 2-on-2 Quake 4 competition, First Place went to Soapy_Mudd (Jonathon Leon) and Duckbutter (Alex Tigor). Second place was won by two guys that were so fast I didn’t even get their names! (But they did leave a silver bullet!) The third place winnings went to TRIPPPR (Phillip Trip) and Corey Steward, who is only 8 years old. In the Call of Duty 4 competition the top prize went to the great one and only Sandsukka (Jimmy Elzorkoni). Congratulations to all. Whether competitors took home only a memory key chain or one of the many door prizes that were given away every hour, no one left empty handed from this one-of-a-kind party. X-Sarge débuted his new karate game that used a camera to track hand movements allow the player to literally “karate chop” his opponents. Finally, the NGC wishes to thank the generosity of everyone who brought food and desserts to this event. It was truly a bounty beyond compare. This was one LAN Party that will not be quickly forgotten.

Gamers, For all those who don't know Quakecon is held right here in Dallas, Texas. It's considered the world's greatest LAN gaming event. This LAN Party will take place from July 31 to August 3, 2008 at the Hilton Anatole Hotel. This is a FREE event. If you want to go, you must be signed up. It's a simple 3 step process. The members of the NGC would like to express our gratitude to the Association of Computer Machinery (ACM) for inviting us and allowing us to participate in Texas A&M - Commerce's first ever LAN event. We were all quite impressed with the turn out and the professional attitude of the ACM folks. The staff were all very dedicated to making the evening both exciting and eventful. The facilities and equipment were top-notch, especially those large screens! We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and were glad to be part of your LAN event.

Gamers, Last Saturday's LAN Party was a truly an awesome experience. I can't remember when we had so much going on in one day. I share Kdogg's opinion that Guitar Hero, Rock Band, and Wii really added to the overall gaming event. Those folks that brought that stuff have my thanks as well. Now if you missed last Saturday, the LAN Party that really rocked, the one that had seen more people at it & connected than any other LAN Party since I've been a member - You get another chance. Phillip Wells, a TAM-C student and a VP of his own group the ACM has invited all of us out to his LAN event in Commerce. Phil was at our LAN party last Saturday and stayed until closing. He can play some serious COD4 too. Be sure you have TeamSpeak installed and bring headsets as we will be using it as our main comms. Gamers, The only way I can describe it is Power-Packed. I tell you can feel it! The excitement, the nervousness, its all building up for this Saturday. Are you ready for the Game? It's NGC's LAN-A-Geddon at L-3's Rec Hall. Gaming starts at 10:00 AM. This is your personal invitation to come. New feature games will be Assassin's Creed and C&C3 Kane's Wrath. Gamers, Please take a moment with me to reflect upon the NGC events this past year. It is my belief that we've had a very good gaming year. We met our annual quota of meetings, once per month or 12 per year. We gave away cash prizes totaling approximately $200 dollars. At the start of the year, we had new T-Shirts made up with your individual nick-name on each one and gave them away to you and all our members for free. Then, later on this same year, everyone who came to Game Day received a pair of eDimensional's "EDI-100 AudioFX Force Feedback" Gaming Headsets also for free. Membership also included access to our exclusive FTP server with over 40 downloadable games, many just recently released, plus CD patches and many windows utilities. You are also tied-in to our Gamers2 email group were you can get help and advice to technical questions from our group, buy and sell things to other members, and a host of other information concerning games and LAN parties. Lets talk about the LAN Party, because I also forgot to mention the food, snacks and drinks that are always in ample supply at every game day. Besides the friendship that you will find, there is an abundance of pure fun going on. Need help installing something on your PC? That's what we do best! 2007 was a very good year!
